You call - and what happens then?
Your call will be dealt with by an experienced and specially trained assistant.
It is best if you call yourself.
If someone else has to call on your behalf, you should still try to talk to the assistant
because they will then be able to help you more effectively.
What happens if you call on behalf of someone else?
Make sure you know the patient's details

You can find this on their identity document (ID card), passport or driving licence - Their name, date of birth and address.

What happens when contacting us?
Depending on your situation we will do one of the following.
- You will be offered medical advice.
A GP always checks the advice given by the assistant. - We will make an appointment at your local emergency out-of-hours GP service.
- Alternatively, the GP will come to your home.
They will only do so if you cannot come to the emergency out-of-hours GP service for medical reasons.
Life-threatening situations
If the situation turns into a life-threatening situation while waiting on the phone,
you should press '1' on your phone.
You will then be given immediate priority.
